the sun sinks behind the mountain, leaving behind, for a few, brief moments, lingering tendrils of sunlight that shine through the trees like golden fingers. what little warmth i gather from the rays dissipates, and i am left standing in shadows; shadows that soon give way to a mirage of colors, painted across the sky. blues - the color of serene waters. pink, the color of rosy lips, kissed by tender words and sweet smiles. colors, fading, mingling, combining into a painting of the landscape, dark with memories and vibrant with promise, as if the sky too, is saying goodbye to the sun.

it's been a while, eh? life tends to get in the way sometimes, and inspiration hasn't been my closest friend lately. but sometimes, we have to push through those dead, uninspired moments and just do something - push past the barrier, push back the doubts, stop comparing what you're not to what others are, and just create for the heck of it. so here's to dreams and changes; beginnings and endings and everything in between. xox

ReplyDeleteThat is truly a lovely view you have...<3 Is this from your bedroom window?
ReplyDeleteI especially like this part of your description:
" lingering tendrils of sunlight that shine through the trees like golden fingers. what little warmth i gather from the rays dissipates, and i am left standing in shadows; shadows that soon give way to a mirage of colors, painted across the sky."
Because I've stuck around to watch the very, VERY ending of a sunset, and that's just how it is. You don't know just how warm those "fingers of light" are until they've gone! =)
It's good to hear from you. =)
