On our trip back to Ohio, we had the chance to stop at a beautiful river--in Missouri where we walked around, stretched our legs, and marveled at the crisp, blue sky, green trees that lined the river and the clear, cool water. I've always had a fondness for water. It is one of the timeless loves of mine. Puddles, lakes, rivers, streams, creeks {and all those bodies of water} always attract my attention, camera and fascination. Everything about it is refreshing and revitalizing--the smell, the look, the feel, the taste. Touching water is almost like touching a little bit of life. Everything about water is life-giving. To people, to animals, to plants, to trees, to a mind perhaps depressed or tired. Even a hint of fun, perhaps? Dipping toes in, hands in, splashing, skipping rocks--acting like kids again for a few moments. That's what we did here. We dipped hands in (not toes--they were encased in shoes, and the riverbed was rocky!), we splashed, we attempted to skip rocks (which didn't go so well--anyone have rock skipping tricks?!) we laughed, and photographed, and tried to not look like a back-woods family from Arizona enjoying some "rare and special" water. But who cares if we did? {In fact, I'm
almost sure we did. Ah-hum.) We love water--we love life, so we enjoyed it.
